In this section, I will share my reflection at a critical level. My opinion will reflect; self - assessment, learn as a learner, lifelong learning skills and implementations in the classroom.
Self- Assignment
The knowledge I gain from EDLD 5366 assignments, relationship from the new knowledge I gained with the old knowledge, and affects on my personal experience with the assignment was somewhat overwhelming. I had not taken a digital graphics class before this one, so everything was new to me. I found the videos and reading to be helpful. I was impressed with the work I have done when creating a personal logo and animation. I have gain confident in creating graphics.
Learn as a Learner
This course allowed me to view what it is like to be a student within a group. The group assignment was challenging. Not only did I learn the value of every team member’s role, but the importance of each person. Everyone depended upon each other to complete one task. I begin my part of the assignment early to avoid rushing. I also participated and responded to my group’s’ questions.
Lifelong Learning Skills
I have learned it is important to continue personal learning. (Cummings, 2012) states “reflection is considered an important aspect of teacher practice". Writing reflections enhance ones level of understanding themselves. As an educator, I will continue to reflect daily. My interactions with colleagues taught me the value of networking. Feedback from discussions and the group activity was encouraging and motivational. I will use this information as a learning tool to strengthen my personal learning skills.
Implementation in the Classroom
As I learned about Web 2.0, implementing the internet into the classroom can be beneficial to students. The use of wiki’s, blogs, and e-portfolio is a great way for students to log their work.
(Helen C. Barrett) States e-portfolio is “to support reflection that can help students understand their own learning and to provide a richer picture of student work that documents growth over time.”
